I used to have this problem years ago. After switching to a system wide adblock like PersonalDNSFilter and adguard(now), alongside Firefox and ublock-origin, I don’t have this problem at all. This and getting premium games and apps instead of crapshoots saves a ton in the long run. Anyway, fuck false advertising
From the article, your device needs to be charging with location turned on. I don’t think that’s what the majority of the people do. That and probably a small sample size for the alert to be reliably sent to other devices.
I know fairphone is not samsung with its large pool of resources. But why does it take so long to release updates. I thought Google had made updates less expensive for OEMs in the past couple of years. Fairphone should focus on reducing the time it takes to update to the newest android release and ideally align itself with android release schedule.
It should not be. Heck, I have a ton of apps & games, and multitask like crazy. On my A22 5g with its dimensity 700 and 6GB of ram(+6GB virtual). It’s not really an issue. I only see things slow down when it’s thermal throttling. The author mentioned 0 throttling issues, so it should be fine for the fairphone with its SoC. The previous fairphones had even lower performance, but they have existed and are fine.
I disagree. If google hadn’t opened up, manufacturers wouldn’t have bothered. We also have great UIs like oneui with useful quality of life features not found in stock android. Not to mention a longer update cycle than even Google the developer of android.
7 years of security updates alongside feature drops, which hopefully translate into 7 years of OS upgrades, would be great. The hardware may not be as repairable as the fairphone, but I guess something is better than nothing.
If you re-add, google search go. Can you customize it? Or have you tried a 3rd party search app like pixel search and set it as assistant and see if that makes a difference? You can always try a 3rd party launcher. Apart from that, i don’t see more solutions.
