Increasingly I'm finding #LinkedIn to be the best of the "normy" social media platforms. #Mastodon is where I have conversations, LinkedIn is where I follow industry trends and try not to become nauseated with the hustle culture nonsense.
I don't see how #Threads or #BlueSky really fit in to my mental conceptions of what I want out of social media. But LinkedIn, eh, it serves a purpose.
If any #lawfedi or @law folks are similarly straddling both worlds, look me up.
differentiating having sensory (over) load spoons, verbalization spoons or just having no spoons. a typical miserable dilema is when I feel I can't deal with talking or verbalising but still having energy and craving human contact (but most ppl get weirded out by "let's hang out and do something which doesnt involve verbalization").
I get frustrated when I try to explain this to others and I hear "oh I also need me time". it is not about being alone. it is the opposite. I want to see people, but talking is impossible. so I end up being alone and lonely.

Movies, live theater, any activity where you're together but otherwise occupied?
I volunteered at an animal shelter and got a lot of good energy without having to interact much with people, just the dogs and cats, who are just happy to have any attention/interaction.
On Nov. 27, 1978, the late Dianne Feinstein, then the 45-year-old president of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and two-time failed mayoral candidate called a press conference to announce her retirement.
That afternoon, a supervisor shot Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey White.
Feinstein handled the moment with poise, and went on to serve 9 years as mayor and 3 decades in the U.S. Senate.
