4 years ago today, I was holding my nose and watched #TheRiseOfSkywalker on its German premiere. Was really fun to have a few days advance knowledge over the Americans about the HOT MESS they were unaware of. This movie is #StarWars at its least ambitious, most cowardly, most cynical, most... content, most Disney. It's an empty shell of a movie that throws away everything TLJ offered it. In a way I'm not even angry, I'm just disappointed.
The thing with #EliteDangerous is: I'm totally disinterested in the #Thargoids and the devs keep adding stuff for that. I just want to explore intriguing planets and maybe get a bit more Guardian archeology. And if the FPS elements would be half-decent, I wouldn't mind going on a campaign for the Alliance military/intelligence, bit spying, bit hacking, bit shooting. Alas, it's those Goids...
If you love #scifi, #space, #spaceexploration etc then #ACityOnMars is a fantastic read on the harsh realities of space settlement (and what we don’t know about it). Check it out!
Question for you multi-social media sites people: what is your favorite and why? Mine is definitely the #Fediverse and my #Mastodon account, it is by far the richest experience on social media. #Twitter feels awkwardly half-dead, half-alive, while #Bluesky is mostly an American wasteland.
@jynersolives no longer have Twitter and never signed up for BS. But I get far more diverse engagement here, with nearly the same number of followers as I had on Twitter. And this is with just two or three other people in my local area who have come over. There is no doubt in my mind that if Mastodon/Fedi had the same uptake locally as Twitter, I would probably have to start filtering 😆
@jynersolives my answer to an earlier version of this:
(For context I was on twitter for about 3 years, on Mastodon for 1, haven’t tried bluesky or threads)
