I am an anarcho-communist and a lover of all things free and open source. I also love cats of all kinds. I am a member of the mental illness community and I freely discuss what it is like living with it. I hope that I can do my small part to help remove the taboo of its discussion. Simply not discussing mental illness will not only make it not go away, but worsen its symptoms for those suffering from it.

@ScruffyDux @actuallyautistic I would agree. Suppress more accurately describes what we have to do and it also expresses the difficulty thereof. It takes a lot more energy to suppress than it does to simply mask.

@Autistrain @actuallyautistic There's absolutely no shame in generalized anxiety disorder, and for that matter, any mental illness, disability, etc. These are "no fault" conditions.

Photographers and artists rejoice—just like in the official iOS and Android apps, pictures are no longer cropped to 16:9 on the web version of Mastodon. Link previews have also gotten a face lift, and will now show both the article date and author when available.

@karawynn @actuallyautistic I've tried to convince many that language is a poor heuristic because it's so multidimensional. Language can be verbal, non-verbal, body-based, creative-based, or analytically-based. Most people consider language to be either verbal or written but it encompasses so much more.
