I love that whenever a long lost obscure/novelty music video gets posted on the internet, more often than not it’s from Rage. What an institution. I’m so glad I grew up watching it till the wee hours of the morning.
I feel the same way. For the 30 or so dollars I spent as an early backer I’ve actually had some fun times in the game, and I don’t actually think it’s quite the total loss that people make it out to be, but it certainly should be far, far better than it is after a decade and 600m dollars invested in it.
Yes. 44, Australian, drove a manual until very recently actually.
In Australia (Queensland at least) you have to pass a manual driving test in order to be legally allowed to drive a manual vehicle. At the time I was getting my license (1995 - 96) manual vehicles were still extremely common, plus I like driving a manual so it made sense for me.
I would never claim that this is better than the original, but for me at least, Primal Scream’s version of the 13th floor elevators song Slip Inside This House is the perfect cover because it retains the psychedelic 60’s summer of love spirit of the original song while making it utterly contemporary (for the time it was released anyway, although to me it still sounds pretty fresh).
I agree, and I have a lot of fun doing it. But I doubt that the average person would be interested in a discussion about yeast attenuation or which water profile to use for a particular style of beer.
I don’t think it’s super obscure, but I home brew beer and it’s a hobby where you can really go deep into the technicalities of tweaking recipes, building equipment, and just the overall process in a way that would probably bore the average non-brewer to death.
Thanks, yeah I saw the post in this thread about the other pinned post. I’ll add this later when I have some more time to write it up in the format requested for that thread.
And thanks for the link to the brisbane thread, but I’m already subbed over there 😀
It’s not college radio but 4zzz is a community radio station in my home town of Brisbane, Australia that’s effectively the same kind of thing and has an online stream:
I still think it’s worth watching from season 1 - there are a couple of pretty good episodes and it sets up some stuff that comes back later on, like building the park in the vacant lot. Plus, it’s only 6 episodes IIRC.
