Idea for a novel, outsourcing it to whoever wants to write it because I'm incapable of doing so✨

🌍 Earth becomes unlivable due to climate change. Humans are forced to explore space and they have to move to [planet of your choice] and colonize it, fighting for survival.

Fast forward to some centuries later, a bunch of astronauts are sent back to Earth to see how well things are going down there.

They land and see that Earth is now gorgeous, full of animal and plant life, it's thriving.

What does our protagonist, a climate scientist, do after they realize that bringing humans back to the planet would destroy it again? 🪐

@BonKH You're on KBin, the Fediverse is so cool! /fangirl moment

Aww, I loved Wall-e 🤖💗 I haven't watched the other two shows you mentioned, I shall do more research! 😁

Oooh, I like the way you think! Animals reclaiming the spaces humans used to inhabit, creating their own socities and adapting to the environment, sounds lovely 😃
Wow, imagine if some of the surviving humans managed to convince the colonists (and let's be honest it wouldn't take that much convincing).
And what if the astronauts went back to their planet, only to spread the new ideas like wildfire! And people being eager to work and to make both the planet where they're currently living and Earth a better place to coexist with the local flora and fauna!! Solarpunk 🤟

@BonKH Uh, apparently I bought the ebook but I haven't read it yet, according to my Calibre library 🙈 I'll add it back to the reading list/pile 😀

I think that Nausicaa, the Studio Ghibli movie, and a few of Becky Chambers' series would fit in the solar punk category pretty well :thinkingg: There was also that Huxley novel set on an island but I have no idea what it's called. I'll have to look it up, I read it like two decades ago 😆
EDIT: The book is called Island, so much for creativity 😆 /edit

And re: Avatar, have you seen the second one? The one with the space whales? I loved it!! 🤩 To be fair, as I said to my friend when we got out of the cinema, I would've gladly watched a 3 hour long documentary only about the fauna on Pandora, but that's just me 🤣

@BonKH I actually haven't watched Nausicaa in a while, I should rewatch it 🐺 Oh you're welcome, I'm always happy to add more stuff to other people's reading/watching lists 😇
