Just attended a coaching on "Making Good Decisions" for academics. After 60min of "don't be too perfectionist", "just think about the next step", "be more compassionate with yourself", we started discussing where all this pressure is coming from, and someone asked "isn't the whole system broken, then?" and I asked "should we actually stop trying to fix our mental health and BURN THE WHOLE F**KING PLACE DOWN?" and the coach went: "Of course, that would actually be healthier". 🤡

Texas A&M just terminated their head football coach and will be paying out his remaining contract to the tune of 76 million dollars. Presumably, they will hire a new coach for a similarly outrageous sum. Think of how many professor salaries that could provide. How many scholarships. How many textbooks. There are entire institutions that survive on less than that.
We were asked to cancel our classes today and not go to campus because Stanford is playing University of Hawaiʻi in football and they needed the parking. 🤨
This is another reason for transit and bike infrastructure.
@davidho College sports are meant to enhance education. At least, that's what they tell us. Canceling classes to enable a football game really puts the lie to that proposition. 😒
