Tumblr is focused more on microblogging, so there are longer form posts, fandoms, and artists. I still have my Tumblr account (for some reason, I never use it) so here’s a screenshot of what it looks like compare to Firefish.

Firefish just has a different ✨vibe ✨ going on, although it’s not for everyone, here’s the guide I’d use:

Twitter -> Mastodon Reddit -> Lemmy Tumblr -> Firefish YouTube -> PeerTube

They all work the same, and are (to some extent interoperable), but it’s just what layout you’re used to the most.

My first thought was an all-in-one “life subscription,” kinda like how you can buy those iPhone + Apple One packages, but with Tesla (I don’t know if Tesla has subscriptions to them – but I’m sure they do), Twitter Blue, and Starlink. It’s pretty dystopian and hecka freaky.

Corporations just seem to be getting more and more abstract… Here’s my ✨ amazing ✨ (non-complete) list:

• Oversimplification of logos (cough cough Firefox killing our fox)
• Corporate Memphis (that big tech, supper flat, indestiguishable art style)
• Websites (everything is either a bento box, image carousel, or loaded up with scroll-based animations – or all of these)
• Names (Facebook is now Meta, Twitter is becoming X)
