I’ll always send a quick text. I never need a reason for a no. If they say no, I thank them for their time and move on. Some people want more hours and are glad to take the shift, some want the day off. I understand both perspectives.
Seems like the discourse has broken down to picking sides.
Hamas is a terrorist organization and does nothing to help the Palestinian people. Israel is indiscriminately leveling a city with absolutely zero regard for innocent lives.
Maybe this situation is full of nuance and grey areas that a single tweet or article or comic can’t fully encapsulate.
The entire system failed. Simple as that. A veteran was left uncared for. The greater mental healthcare system (which isn’t exactly much) didn’t work. And SOMEHOW, this guy was STILL allowed to carry a weapon with mass killing potential.
Nothing’s going to change. It’ll be forgotten. We’ll repeat it over and over.
Fuck the gun lobby. Fuck the health industry lobby. Fuck all of the money and greed stopping us from ever fixing this.
Years ago, had a job at a public establishment. Building gets evacuated due to suspected gas leak. Four fire trucks in front of the entrance with lights flashing and an army of firemen inside, trying to find the source of the leak. In the midst of all of this, a customer walks between two of the trucks and tries to enter the building.
It was fun watching the fire fighters scold him like a toddler
