Tosti, to ukraine in Russian government to hold heads of highly subsidized regions, including Chechnya and annexed Ukrainian territories, responsible for shrinking federal deficit
@Tosti@feddit.nl avatar

This title seems wrong. either the deficit is shrinking (and that would be good for them, less deficit = less need to borrow) or the people are beiing held responsible for more deficit.

reading the article: “The Russian government plans to hold the governors of Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, and Tuva, as well as the Moscow-backed heads of the annexed Ukrainian regions, directly responsible for the country’s federal budget deficit, according to the newspaper Kommersant.”

You sure, the article reads as if it would either need to be cancelled or the devices separated.

I don’t use apple, but I would expect this to require user confirmation to share… but it reads as if it does not, hence the warning.

Jup, hence my request to change it… the editorializing shows OP’s bias too usually so I never minded it a lot…

Panic? I think the feature could be a privacy issue and it is good that parents are being informed about this so they can do their job and parent. This is an ideal moment to discuss privacy, privacy protection and security again with the kids.

I would venture a guess, but people on Lemmy are probably not the target audience for these kind of reminders as I read about Firefox users with unlock, raspberries or dockers with pihole etc.

Add some unhealthy US fetish with predators hunting your kids and you get “panic”.

If you where to be able to change the title to a neutral non clickbait version naxt time it would be appreciated.

Sherrifs office does PSA that airdrop function could expose personal details after new update turns function on by default.

But not as catchy.

Thanks for the post though.

Haha… half of the time I’m looking at these videos wondering where the targets are untill they circle them or they explode, and these gentlemen spot flying drones from their drone. Impressive.

Well look at the information out there on the pros and cons of remote depositions. In person seems to be better as the remote in the US still is not a mature solution, riddled with technical difficulties.

It’s there to stay and will mature, but it’s not there yet. Covid pushed everyone to ignore some of the drawbacks but they are still there.

I have no clue if the judge is indeed 80 years old, but in the end the judge has free reign over their cours proceedings.

Remote does not make as much of an impression as in person.

Tosti, to ukraine in On November 25th, 2023, the enemy launched about 75 "Shahed" type UAVs over Ukraine. ~~71~~ 74 UAVs and one Kh-59 missile were destroyed.

Yup, and with the intended delivery of the additional air defense they might have moved up the time table.

Meh, I think this is just a convenient out. I’m not saying that there is no risk, but the other serious health risks was always a factor for everyone (so barring agoraphobia, not a thing) and covid is also less of an issue if you are up to date with your booster.

If he wants he can also wear a mask I guess (travel is all done private, so hardly any risks there. Or at least a lot less than for mere mortals).

Keep in mind he is a billionaire with one goal, protect his empire, and everything is allowed in that game… Even using legitimate concerns for some to get out from under being deposed on the stand.

The US enjoys it’s status in the world due to being an exporter of security for many other countries.

In turn these countries focus on the US, choose US products over others giving the US an enormous trade advantage. Especially because it also incentivises others to purchase US military hardware.

The amount “spent” on Ukraine is peanuts as the bulk is in material support in products that the US government purchases from US companies, made by US workers in US factories.

On top of that the US is investing in this war as it will allow them to reduce future presence in Europe and focus on the Pacific theatre.

I would not be surprised if the current help would be a net gain for the US.

Keep in mind that the ATACMS they sent where near end of life and that meant your tax dollars would be needed to either dispose of or upgrade them. Giving them to Ukraine disposes of them for free, gaining goodwill AND damaging a geopolitical rival.
