Slow, to asklemmy in Why is such a tunnel needed?

This is cool. This is the first time I have heard about such projects.

Slow, to asklemmy in Why is such a tunnel needed?

Will there be compacted earth on top of the tunnel so animals can walk?

I think that the overpass needs more powerful supports

Slow, to asklemmy in Question about Android. Is there a way to replace the system file manager on non-rooted devices?

How? There is no pop-up window with options. I think the call to the system file manager is written into the code of some applications.

Slow, to asklemmy in Why do you need RSS in modern times?

The answer to your question. There are news channels that are only on social networks. Or bloggers who publish insider information about new equipment. As far as I know, you can’t do without scraping on the server if you want to receive news from social networks.

Except for off-the-shelf solutions like Nitter instants.

Slow, to asklemmy in Why do you need RSS in modern times?

Unfortunately the display of content in different RSS readers is different.

I understand that RSS is for displaying text and photo information, but the lack of video and audio playback in various app is disappointing.

In addition, it is often necessary to configure the server part to scan commercial sites. This is something that beginners cannot handle.

I tried listening to podcasts through RSS apps in F-droid. Nothing came of this venture. These RSS readers do not support any media other than photos. I will test Miniflux in the near future. They declare their support YouTube.

I didn’t know Twitter had an RSS option. How do we access it?

Can’t site owners know from which IP address their news and pictures were downloaded via RSS?

Slow, to technology in YouTube is now fully blocking ad blockers around the world

f-droid.org/…/io.github.muntashirakon.AppManager/

When I read that someone is planning to open their code, I remember the news about the releases of the Sailfish operating system: “The operating system is partially open source, but the layer for running Android apps is proprietary. However, the code of this layer was planned to be made open in 2017”

Planning doesn’t mean doing.

Is it just me or is WireMin closed source?

In addition, the app contains Google tracker (This is what App Manager shows).

It’s not the first time I’ve seen this app recommended in Lemmy and I don’t understand why.

I think there are a lot of similar apps in Google Play.

Upd: I checked Damus. Contains 24 trackers. 😂

Slow, to memes in ...Then you select it, and the Captcha fails.

I hate these captcha. You look at the picture, the edge of the traffic light or the motorcycle goes outside the box. You decide to click on the square where this tiny part of the image is and the message “This is incorrect!”.

Captcha without images from Cloudflare is even more infuriating. The so-called “Connection reliability check” takes quite a long time and this captcha appears often.

Slow, to asklemmy in Why don’t application developers who have abandoned their development make the code they don’t need open source?

Maybe my idea is stupid, but what if ask for help? It may be possible to find programmers willing to help.

Isn’t there bad code in the free software world?

I remember the news when Dwango company decided to open source the Toonz program. On one of the forums I read a lot of criticism about the quality of their code.
But no one will deny that this is a useful program for artists, even if the program code is not very good.

Slow, to asklemmy in Will you react normally to the appearance of a non-english speaking community on your instance?

On the spare instance that I use, the language settings are simply not taken into account. I choose to display posts in my language, save, but the settings return to default and only english is displayed.
