? I read the lovely Agents of Winter by Ada Marie Soto. Third in a series and you should really read them in order; also you want to read them all. 😁 (Unless you are very agin gentle and/or asexual romance.)

My review of the first book is here: https://willaful.wordpress.com/2022/01/16/snowinlovebingo-shorts/

@willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks Say You’ll Be Nine by Lucy Lennox. It was cute and fun and combined two of my favorite things: home renovations and RVs. 😀

? I just finished Dionysus in Wisconsin and I'd feel a little delicate about mentioning it since the author is on this instance, but fortunately I loved it. 😁 It's kind of like if Neil Gaiman and Cat Sebastian collaborated on a m/m historical fantasy romance. Magic, myths, high stakes, true love.

@willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks I’m reading “I Went on an Adventure and All I Got Was This Barbarian Orc” by Jennifer Cody. It’s a hilarious and silly D&D campaign with some romance. The books are cheap and short.I’m enjoying them. (Disclaimer: I still play D&D with my college buddies even though I am now over 40 😀).

? I just finished a very soft, sweet romance called Kit & Basie, which I was lucky enough to snag for free. (It's no longer free but is on KU.) It's m/m cottagecore whimsy but somehow manages not to be twee. Also about grief and may be iffy for disabled readers, so check the CWs. Kisses only.

@willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks “Time to Shine” by Rachel Reid. Hockey romance. Very low angst. Sweet characters. Definitely more than kissing. 😀

? There's nothing like a really good audiobook for making my work get done. Two loads of laundry and a lot of gardening done, thanks to 10 Things That Never Happened. The narrator is just fantastic, such distinct voices and accents. And you can really hear the emotions growing between the characters.

(But now I have nothing to listen to, so I guess housework is done for the day!)

@willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks I’m finally listening to Spare by Prince Harry (16 hours!!). He does a good job of reading it. And the ghostwriter is very talented. I will definitely run out of housework before I run out of book. 😀

? I read The Amazing Alpha Tau Boyfriend Project by Lisa Henry, which was very fun, but also made me uncomfortable in a way I find hard to define. Maybe the glorification of the "good" frat house, maybe the familiar humor that sounds more like my friends online than college boys. I'll probably read the next book though. On KU.

@willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks “The Trouble with Trying to Date a Murderer” by Jennifer Cody. This book is BONKERS. It’s set in a universe that I can only describe as “Paranormal John Wick.” If you want “realism”, this is not the book for you. If you want a hilarious paranormal M/M romance grounded in absolutely zero reality, I recommend it!

? I DNF'd His Improper Proposal by Aydra Richards; really didn't like the uneven power dynamic between the two main characters, and the whole set-up was pretty ridiculous. This was her first book and she got much, much better.

@willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks I’m in the middle of “The Unlikely Heir” by Jax Calder. Not usually a fan of books about modern royalty, but I like the author so I gave it a shot. So far I have been very entertained!

(Due to a big Royal scandal, an obscure dude 11th in line for the throne is suddenly the new Prince of Wales and he’s falling for the Prime Minister)

? I'm halfway through the audio of Mortal Follies by Alexis Hall and what seems to be the big climactic moment has happened. Is there going to be five hours just of people having sex now?

@willaful @romancelandia @romancebooks Just finished “Today Will Be Different” by Maria Semple for my local book club. Did not enjoy it. It was stressful to read and basically about a day in the life of a really mean woman and horrible parent who makes zero personal growth so at the end you’re like “so….what was the point?”

It’s supposed to be funny, but between the homophobia and fat shaming, I found it to just be horrifying.
