P34C0CK, to futurama in Season 8 Episode 8 - Zapp Gets Cancelled [Discussion and Spoilers]

I’ve enjoyed them. Something about the writing in this newest batch makes it seem more like the old episodes.

While I completely agree with this sentiment, the content of the episodes already feels dated. Someone on another post said it feels like the episodes were written 3-5 years ago and I’m inclined to agree.

Bitcoin, vaccines, cancel culture. It just seems…off? Still very much enjoying this season though.

P34C0CK, to asklemmy in What movies had trailers so good that the actual movie ended up being disappointing ?

Someone actually filed a lawsuit over this one:

P34C0CK, to gaming in GTA IV Appreciation Post

NPC drivers who are designed to purposely wreck you. I don’t know where I read it, but I’m pretty sure the drivers are coded to try and wreck into you at some point and there isn’t anything you can do about it.

This is actually how the GTA franchise got it’s start. The original game that became GTA had police chases where the police cars would intentionally ram your car. It was caused by a bug in the code but the test players loved it. Rest is history.

GTA4 is a great entry in the series. My only real complaint at the time was the size of the map. Having just come off Vice City and San Andreas, GTA4 felt so small.

Hey Cousin! Let’s go bowling!

50 mile radius of the office address.

So if your home was 40 miles away but your commute was 55 miles…you still had to go 🙄

P34C0CK, to nottheonion in End of an era: Zoom tells employees to return to office for work

is now asking all employees within 50 miles of a company office to go in at least two days a week on a hybrid schedule.

I briefly worked for a company that took this approach. The oversight they made was they had 2 offices (different teams in each), but as long as you lived within 50 miles of one of the offices, you had to come in.

Even if your team was exclusively in office 1, and you lived outside the radius of office 1 BUT were in the radius of office 2…you had to come in to office 2…and teleconference with your team in office 1 🤦

P34C0CK, to dogs in Feeling kind of sick of my dog.

Try to keep this in mind:

You have: Your friends, family, job, school, social activities, phone, computer, TV, car, bike…

Your dog has: You!

Not trying to shame anyone here who is burnt out with a pet. I get frustrated with my dog too, but I try to remind myself that she’s a part of my world, while I’m her WHOLE world.

P34C0CK, to asklemmy in What ways do you find different media?

I haven’t tried it for books, but movies seemed to give a decent response.

It’s community sourced, so literally “members of this site who liked this sci-fi book also liked these romance novels”.

Imperfect 😁

tastedive.com

An imperfect system, but you can input any media you like and it will give suggestions of similar media.
