I used my real name on the bird site to keep me nice. It didn't work, but cishet male privilege meant I mostly got away with it, so I'm not too optimistic about being "nice" on here.
White supremacy is a terrorist ideology.
The survival of democracy is on the line, so "BothSides" = Instablock

Even when Joe Biden proves he is well up to the task and rigors of being president, the media uses it to bring up his age again, while giving “215 lb” Trump who is already slurring his words and is only 3 years younger than Biden a pass. It’s shameful.

@georgetakei They transcribed every vocalized pause to mock his stutter. They are determined to get a horserace, and are mucking the stables.

@austinkocher @geography Cesar Caviedes, my Geography of South America professor, acknowledged that my interest in international migration was better suited for human geography, but advised me to approach it from demography through sociology. He correctly predicted the turn to remote sensing would drive funding in geography.

Reading Log: Rereading this book because I can’t still get over how important so many things that Sara Ahmed says in this book are and I need to keep a highlighter and notepad handy while reading this.

Today is the 78th anniversary of the first detonation of a nuclear weapon on Earth, the Trinity Test in New Mexico in 1945, three weeks before the nuclear attacks on Japan.

There will be many images posted of the mushroom cloud today, but here is what mattered more, the fallout cloud. Dozens of homes and communities were blanketed with fallout, which which also contaminated fields as far away as Illinois and Indiana.

They have always known about radioactive fallout.

@bojacobs when we were body screened to work in a reactor containment vessel in 1982, one of the electricians spiked for Strontium 90. The health physics screener asked where he was from.
"Far upstate New York."
"Did you eat a lot of game as a kid?"
"If we ate meat, it was game."
"Yeah, you were on the fallout plume from the Nevada bomb tests. The deer up in NY were all contaminated."
I don't remember him discussing the increased likelihood of leukemia.
After 41 years, I do remember that room.
