Not always as some really need to eat cheap or not at all, BUT, most buy things they really really really do not need and buy it as cheap as possible even those who say they cannot afford to eat.
I am not refuting the article, I am just pointing out that the reduction in emmisions may also be attributable to the lower demand in the manufacturing sectors. There is a lot of propaganda in these sorts of claims in all countries and all want to seem like green heros when at the end of the day the total global emmisions just continues to go up. Maybe 2023 will actually see its peak, but it is not looking that way.
I would agree with more people these tools become more needed, but I am talking about a solo dev situation who is the only person who accesses the code base. All other contributors I carefully import.
Just theories based on the fact that the manufacturing sector in China has been hit hard over the last 2 years with key companies pulling out. This is well understood and is accelerating which surely means less manufacturing less emmisions.
I just find frequent full backups give me more control and less surprises when I find out my code did not sync/commit or some other issue. Done it for 3 years and it has been very worthwhile. Saved my project from a loss so many times now.
Really? I have very high hopes. Not next year or the year after but as we approach the end of the decade you will be able to ask for any experience you desire. Furthrr since it will get to know your taste, it will be tailored to you. I share this with both excitement as a consumer and sadness as a VR developer whose career will be replaced by AI one day.
