Gen Xer who loves anime, manga, especially SciFi, Fantasy & RomComs; sort of a Benjamin Button type of anime fan...really got into anime past the "otaku expiration date" and still going strong this many years later.

IRL, my day job, I'm an Interlibrary Loan librarian. My job title says Paraprofessional but I have an ALA accredited MLS so I'm a underemployed librarian.

I was diagnosed ASD at age 39 in 2010 and it makes the past make a lot more sense; I continue to grow and evolve in my understanding of my autistic self and relating to other neurodiverse folks.

I'm a middle aged guy, divorced, boring CIS-Het but try to be a good ally.

Do you listen to music to wind down or fall asleep, if so what kind?

My favorite music types to wind down and fall asleep to are, for some reason, very energetic, high bpm genres, with 90s jungle taking the lead.

when I was in high school, I listened to a Soft Music station at 99.1FM that helped me go to sleep...that format doesn't exist on commercial radio anymore. I have "relaxing music" on CD, many of it Asian inspired, but I haven't really given it a try as an actual rest/sleep aid.

My Mom says this verbatim to me to express her frustration with my lack of career advancement. When I try to discuss my ASD challenges (and discrimination) she's very dismissive, don't use that as a crutch, etc. She's read entire books on autism but it just doesn't sink in.
