While this would be nice to have I think it should have two additional changes.
-- Remove the soul_fire_base_blocks tag and just have the fire_base_blocks tag.
-- Have the fire_color tag take in RGB numbers/letters instead of just base colors.
Having the fire_color tag use RGB values would allow a wider range of colors then just the base 16 within Minecraft, the only thing is that the fire texture would have to be gray scaled similar to how the Grass Blocks grass texture is gray scaled to be affected by the Minecraft color gradient when placed in certain biomes.
