A couple of times I’ve been presented with notifications from commercial apps downloaded from the Play store that are very clearly promotional material. Thankfully, Android allows me to block particular notification channels if I swipe the notification lightly and hit the gear icon. I can disable the particular “Promotion”...
Notifications of all types are getting seriously out of hand again. Some apps (looking at you Whatsapp 🤨) have “preferred notifications” turned on by default effectively bypassing DND.
I’m seriously about to nuke ALL notifications on my phone except for my bank, significant other, and my boss.
As a 12 yr Reddit lurker, Geddit fits all my needs. It sidesteps the api using rss feeds and other technical stuff I don’t know about. You can view posts and comments. Favorite subreddits. You guys were all taking how you’d pay the developer twice for his work if possible, and how everyone should purchase the Pro version without question on day one etc.
Maybe it wasn’t you sucking the dev off sideways for weeks straight - but the community at large is and has been.
I mean, I like the app and all, but the price is steep. Steeper than it was for reddit and steeper than all the other apps as well.
As far as I know it’s the only one with a subscription model, and we don’t even have the “sync” feature that is its namesake.
I thought that once too but that would be naive to the fact that how people take photos eg; trends are what shape the direction of camera hardware and software development.
In other words, don’t hold your breath - wait for the next ticktock trend.
Chromecast has been one of those smaller hardware products that have brought about a meaningful experience upgrade. The first Chromecast solved the pain point of clunky TV software interfaces, making it easier to locate content on your handy smartphone and then play it on your big-screen TV. However, a Court in the US has ruled...
Google has rolled out the Nearby Share app for Windows, which has been in beta since March. The new tool lets you easily send and receive files – photos, videos, music documents and more – between nearby Android devices and Windows computers....
Yeah, it will send you down some fucking residential area with 50 stop signs to “save” 2 minutes but it ends up being more hassle than it’s worth. I can’t be the only one.
lol. “all men bad, powerful woman can do anything and doesn’t need help” - story falls flat because the lead isn’t vulnerable and too strong to ask for help. 🤮
I’ve had a Pixel 4a for ~3 years at this point. I had to replace it some time last year because I had lost my original in a lake. T-Mobile gave me whichever lower-end Pixel there was at the time and I immediately gave it back because of the offputting amount of warmth it produced doing very little. When the time does come to...
Unfortunately generally the “slower” chip sets also run cooler so many flagships will have heating issues to contend with depending on ambient temperature.
I hate my P6 Pro for that reason, and will be doing the same as OP and avoiding any poorly heat throttling phones in the future.
I’m tired of having my videos shut off mid shoot because of heating issues, or issues while using GPS on the motorcycle.

A federal judge has ruled that an Arizona law limiting how close people can get to recording law enforcement is unconstitutional, citing infringement against a clearly established right to film police doing their jobs.
Right now it’s somewhat of a neutral ground with heavy commie and leftist leanings. I’d like to keep politics out of subs that aren’t related to politics but I ain’t holding my breath.
