Bobo,

Seriously I had such a good laugh reading this before going to sleep. I couldn’t get over the image of the person opening their bedroom door to be greeted by their cat with a knife in it’s mouth! Some hold up, right!

Why Roman concrete is still stronger than RAAC (and other modern concretes) (www.chemistryworld.com)

The concrete dome of the Pantheon in Rome remains stable enough for visitors to walk beneath, and some Roman harbours have underwater concrete elements that have not been repaired for two millennia – even though they are in regions often shaken by earthquakes....

Immune cells that fight cancer become exhausted within hours of first encountering tumors – new research (theconversation.com)

A key function of our immune system is to detect and eliminate foreign pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. Immune cells like T cells do this by distinguishing between different types of proteins within cells, which allows them to detect the presence of infection or disease....

Bobo,

Very pretty drawing. Also the cat looks so cute and cuddly.

Bobo,

She is so cute and pretty.

Just read Children of Time - top notch sci-fi

Just finished Adrian Tchaikovsky’s Children of Time. One of my top reads, let alone sci-fi reads, for the past couple of years for sure. Super well-thought out concepts, good character development, and an irresistible hook that will take you out of your comfort zone when you find out that you really don’t know who you are...

Bobo,

I, too, read that series recently and loved it. However, I think the third book wasn’t as great as the first two, but still good. How does children of time compare with this series? Final Architecture is the only work by the author that I have read.

Bobo,

I enjoyed shards of earth series especially because I found the characters very engaging and relatable. How does it compare with his other books?

Bobo,

Definitely second Hyperion.

WEEKLY DISCUSSION SEPT 11-17 ANCIENT NEAR EAST

Demons, as they’re called in English translation, have haunted Christians in the Western World for a very long time. In the Ancient Near East, they could be nice or not so nice, forming a part of a fascinating, and complex pantheon that people invoked and worshiped. A fine distortion of this religious system would be the film...

Bobo,

I think it’s partly because of incorrect knowledge and misinterpretation of the knowledge that they have. The demons you mentioned sounded very interesting. Could you suggest any articles etc for further reading?

Bobo,

That was interesting. The name “pazuzu” sounded familier to me, probably because of the movie.

Bobo,

Aww such an adorable Void. Also he seems to have very interesting green eyes (am I seeing right?).
