I hate that I have to send emails like this. But that's what it's come to, isn't it.

@StephanieMoore @aram @academicchatter Were these wires supposed to stop women from crossing state border or aimed at stopping migrants? Either way, it's a verystupid idea.
There is so much disturbing activity in TX. Abortion travel bans?

@Ferrichrome @StephanieMoore @aram @academicchatter I've heard from reliable sources that the ban is probably unconstitutional. It violates the fourth article and fourteenth amendment of constitution. This will surely go to court.
Authoritarians just keep pushing the envelope.

@StephanieMoore @aram @academicchatter Wow. Concertina wire! There are probably a lot of people in TX and elsewhere who don't understand the implications. Walling off your state can mean that you are walling yourself in. Despicable.

If this man is reelected, he will pardon all the January 6 defendants and criminals. And where is the outrage from the right over the “altered” national anthem? This is straight out of dystopian novel.

@georgetakei Have not heard the altered version of Star Spangled Banner yet. Just more proof that right wing will support anything he does from the cringe worthy to the illegal.
An aside-it might be a good time to change the national anthem to "America the Beautiful", something that has been under discussion for years and has quite a bit of public support.

I stopped off to pick up Mark's favorite hoagie on the way back from visiting Dad, and the Karen ahead of me blew a gasket because she wanted someone who spoke English to take her order (the guy did speak English; he just had an accent). The poor guy didn't know what to do, and I was angry and just blurted out, "Hey, lady, knock it off." Of course, she proceeded to go off on me, and that was when the manager came out. He asked her to leave, which she did, cursing a blue streak on her way out🙄

@dancinyogi Many people are just afraid to get involved. They wait for someone else to make the first move. Thank you for standing up. You may have encouraged others to do the same in the future.

@georgetakei PragerU is not a conservative university. It is not a university at all. It does not offer degrees. It has, however, infiltrated American schools for nearly 15 years.
Its founder was a talk show host who wanted to promote "Judeo Christian values" and right wing talking points on the internet. It's a nonprofit founded by the wealth of fossil fuels billionaires.
No surprise that it supports climate change denial as well as bizarre and harmful racist theories.
