NSFW subs still available on Reddit is Fun?

I heard that 5th of July that Reddit was blocking all access to NSFW if you aren’t logged in, they’re still open on RiF which is still functioning while logged out. Any clue what is going on or is Reddit just run by idiots?

They can still see the traffic is from the API and they aren’t getting the ad revenue so I see it as another form of protest / nonconformity.

If they see people using the free API tier instead of switching to official app and logging in, that’s a loss for them.
