Eldbjørg Hemsing's Arctic.

The last time I listened to composer Jacob Shea’s Arctic Suite I had a transcendental revelation and wrote this: https://www.scifi.global/solarpunk-and-the-vestiges-of-the-ascetic/

The entire album is beautiful and worth adding to your collection via any medium. Attn: @classicalmusic @contemporarymusic, @composers, buy this album. It is astonishingly beautiful.

Listening to an album I didn't know I had.

Kiril Kondrashin (conductor)
Leonid Kogan (violin)
Philharmonia Orchestra

Brahms: Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 77

The remaster sounds fairly good. I might even give it 4/5 stars. Might. But that is only considering the original recording is from 1958. And it is an exceptional performance.

Listening to Markéta Janoušková: L’astre Bleu

It is a lovely album. Markéta has intensely incredible skill as a . This not the type of performance we hear often and that is obvious from the first listening. I bought the album when it was first released out of curiosity and it demonstrated one occasion where I somehow used my better judgment, as it is an outstanding album.
She is not as popular in the English speaking world, but is well known.

I have Elicia Silverstein's album, The Dreams & Fables I Fashion, which I love but haven't listen to in some time. I came across this beautiful performance of Passacaglia for solo violin (1676), by Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber (1644-1706) and felt it worth sharing.

Today's video was one of the last things that we did before lockdown in March 2020... It was filmed in the Great Watching Chamber at Hampton Court Palace, while preparing a section on Elizabethan music for Historic Royal Palace's Futurelearn course on Tudor entertainment.

Augustine Bassano: Pavan
From Egerton MS 3665

Robin Jeffrey: lute
Tamsin Lewis: renaissance violin
