currently running a quick cleanup through the database to free some space in the hope to speed up a potential migration to a more powerful server (in case i decide to do so) – you may experience some slowdowns depending on the table that is currently being worked on (and the base load from the fediverse is already quite high). sorry for that #tchncs :tchncs:
While I have everyone's attention, I would like to go thru some improvements I wish mastodon and #fediverse in general (mostly ActivityPub) have made:
Account mobility: enable users to log on to other federated servers with one account, oauth style. this can solve a lot of headaches, for example easier following and cross-platform interaction. we can talk about interoperability of fediverse all night but each service have different UI/UX on purpose, doesn't it? #twitterdown#twittermigration

The only reason for staying is because everyone else is remaining there.
How does one communicate in a relatable way that they're basically in a prison cage with an open door? A voluntary prison they stay in only because others are there?
I don't have an answer but I applaud every single person who dares to try the alternatives.
