As an #indieAuthor who writes mythology #erotica that is funded entirely by people buying my #books and my #Patreon supporters, I am always looking for new #readers of my work 😊
I am still trying to figure out how Substack might fit in with my #IndieAuthor ambitions. How does it work with and for you? Would love others' feedback as well.
@EllenInEdmonton@bookstodon I used to use Scribd back ye olden days when I was an academic librarian and didn't care for the service. Also, a lot of the books were illegal content. Dunno if that's changed but the authors I want to read are NOT on Scribd or don't have all their books (I checked for a few). I have yet to see an #indieauthor support Scribd. I'm already tied to the Kindle eco system via my libraries who use Overdrive to disseminate eBooks to Kindle which is handy as hell.
@smutstodon This poll hasn't been live for 24 hours yet and I already have 100 votes in the poll. I ran a similar poll on #Twitter back when I had a little more than 2000 followers (in 2019) and the total result were 128 votes.
So it seems my reach in the #Fediverse or engagement is better than it was even on "old Twitter" which is a beautiful discovery 🥰
My author friend Jessie was hit by a stray bullet last week. She’s facing multiple surgeries (she’s American so that ain’t free). Additionally, as a freelancer, if she doesn’t work, she doesn’t get paid.
Alternatively, instead of giving to the gofundme, you could buy her books. Did you know selling direct is easy and painless? Not only that, but the author gets to keep up to 95% of your purchase – and they get paid right away!
Jessie writes amazing diverse and inclusive sci-fi. She also writes books for authors.
Special series sale alert! Until the end of July, grab all the books in The Iamos Trilogy by @lyssachiavari at 25% off on Smashwords! And yes, this includes the pre-order for the third book, ONE WORLD (coming Oct. 24th!)
