I #read the #audiobook of Unfit To Print by KJ Charles. This lovely Victorian #historicalromance is notable not just for the M/M #romance but because both MCs are POC in late-1800s London. For some reason, this #book hasn’t fared as well as her other #books in ratings - the setting & sub-plot might be uncomfortable for some. It's the last few days of #RomanceAwarenessMonth and on day 28, I would like to give a shout out to Courtney Milan and her #BrothersSinister series. I don't read #HistoricalRomance on a regular basis, but this series was compelling and drew me in. The final novella, "Talk Sweetly to Me" is one of my favourite short stories. Ms Milan explores the diversity of the era, and backs it up with research.
It's urban fantasy/historical romance set in Madison in 1969. It's got a little noir mystery vibe. It's got a low-angst relationship. There's no homophobia and no cliffhanger.
