Escape to Enchanted Hill in this historical mystery where two people with a dark, shared past collide while working undercover at a glittering mansion on the California coast.
I haven’t read this YA novel yet, but I am definitely very intrigued and added it to the top of my tbr. I love the blurb and the cover and cannot wait to read it ! I will share it in the #littlefreelibrary afterwards !
On their fruit farm a mother tells the story of her almost-famous young actress days, and its aftermath, to her three 20-something daughters. It's lockdown and they're trying to get the cherry harvest in with 1 migrant family instead of 12. Her good husband already knows the story. As masterful & beguiling as only Ann Patchett can. Five bright stars
-Excited for this Valancourt reissue of a "modern horror classic," according to their wise curators: Thomas Tessier's THE NIGHTWALKER
-THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG IN MORRINGTON COUNTY from Ryan W. Kinney sounds fantastic: "A QPOC-centered horror short story collection. The 12 stories include flesh-eating pixies, killer thighs, people microdosing zombie blood, and more." YES, PLEASE
Two books that made me sob: The Art of Racing in the Rain and this one.
So beautifully written but also so painful to read. There are parts where I had to choke back tears. Make sure you have a pack of tissue on hand (and don't skip the author's notes at the end.)
