The older I am the less I am impressed by a lot of stuff. Maybe that's why I became interested in the wabi-sabi style and a simpler way of life. In the context of a simple life, Wabi-Sabi encourages us to savour the moment, find contentment in the ordinary and focus on what truly matters. This fall I am discovering the profound beauty of autumn leaves and I did not expect that it would be an almost poetic journey.
Compost tip: grocery stores that have the self-squeeze orange juice machines (like Whole Foods) are happy to give you the trash rinds. They aren’t organic oranges but it is a trash can load of “greens” for your copious “browns” in the Fall. 🍂🍁
Today is both the autumn eqinox and time for this: https://www.skogsmaran.se/
Those passing my window on the finishing 200m are still running (at 12.15)
The less fit will come walking later …
We have had some serious rain this morning, to the extent that even the magpies sat under roof on the patio, so those passing are not only tired but also very wet. #sarassummer23
Me? I stay inside preparing meatloaf … #cooking#weather#autumn#running
Next was blowing leaves from the patio and flowerbeds. Before the oak leaves start to fall in a few weeks this makes perfect mulch for behind the logs along the fence, so after some weeding between the bushes and cardboard put down in between berry bushes and rhododendron it made a pretty thick layer. Hopefully even less weeding next year. Leftovers and the already cut down perennials went to the compost.
I now have a very clean back garden … Won’t last, I know, still. @gardening#autumnleaves
