In amidst a discussion amongst friends about the usual rivalries of languages and IDEs (vs or ), I had a realization.

My choice of languages, tools and doing everything in Emacs works fantastically for me. But I'd never impose or wish it upon anyone else.

@brettwitty further to this, it took me until recent years to realise that my preference was not based on efficiency or productivity, but because I enjoy using my chosen tools. I think they're fun and look cool, and I would use them even if they slowed me down.

@brettwitty my religion in Christian. I don't have room for religions around language, IDEs, car brand, or any of the other thing people spend too much time fighting about.

I often need to remind myself of the above to ensure to don't start worshiping something else...
