9/25/23 Open 6-9p. No open containers, please. Closed Tuesday this week. Back to normal on Wednesday.
It's Monday. If that's not scary enough, try "Queens of Scream–The New Blood", interviews with women of horror cinema! This horror movie book & many more lurk in the stacks, waiting for you now, at #BonnettsBooks!
I can't help but wonder what tale was told by Huyang in 'Ahsoka' episode 6, but the cue surely sent viewers of a certain age right back to 1977.
Kristin Baver's "Skywalker–A Family at War" (2021) is a sort of biography or history book chronicling the iconic "Star Wars" family. Study. There may be a test.
Can you feel the ethereal veil thinning? "Llewellyn's Little Book of Halloween" by Mickie Mueller might be just the thing to get you through hocus pocus season – and survive pumpkin spiced everything.
Open today, 9/7/23, from 6-9p. Did I forget to photograph books again? Obviously. Here's a rare portrait of the elusive Bridgette for #WhiskerWednesday. She's my phantom cat–appearing silently from nowhere, vanishing as if she'd never been. She won't be held but she loves to loved.
Note: In the distant past, over 40 years ago, #BonnettsBooks had a store cat, but no more. There's plenty of mayhem without a furball knocking over our toy collections. 😉
Thankfully, my wife's beautiful garden has provided some great filler this year, to help make up for my forgetfulness with fresh book photos. I hope I'm doing them justice for your #BloomScrolling enjoyment.
Tue 9/5/23 Open 6-9p. Closed 9/6. Back to normal Thu–Sat, 9/7–9/9. No open containers, please.
It's hump-day & back-to-school season. Don't forget your dictionary! This one's for adult education –one of many such titles in stock– from introductory to advanced topics & techniques, as well as biographies, DVDs, classic erotica, vintage magazines, pulp-fiction, & bedside readers for your nightstand.
Wednesday 8/30/23, Open 6-9p. No open containers, plz.
8/22/23 — It looks like I'll be out of the shop again today. As before, I hope to be back in the stacks on the morrow. Enjoy this silhouetted sunflower – a backward way of sharing something that could've been simple and beautiful.
From the "A day late & a dollar short Dept."..
This was to be a Wildlife or Witty Wednesday post but life got in the way. So, now it's Thankful Thursday, I guess.
8/17/23 Open tonight until at least 9p. No open containers, please.
In the archaeological digs that are my storage rooms, I found two treasures! These additional adventures of the fedora-wearing, gun-toting, Nazi-punching Professor with a whip were penned by Rob MacGregor and would be lovely additions to any Indiana Jones collection.
Are you ready to chill for the weekend? Got your tunes in order? Your ear-holes deserve better than "programming" from a corporate A.I. If you can't make your own playlist,
try Rev. Cool's "Around the Fringe" Friday nights from 8-10p ET on WYSO.org.
A reminder, in the ongoing WGA/SAG-AFTRA strike... Without the talented artists & craftspeople who make movies & shows, there won't be any future original classics, just A.I. ripping off and regurgitating things an algorithm deems popular. How would it know? It hasn't any real friends.
Music, writing, singing, acting, and graphic design... All forms of Art. This treasure is here now, with plenty of other charming goodies, to kick off Art In the City weekend.
And tomorrow is Clash Dayton's retro/exotic block party celebrating their 12 years in business!
8/4/23 we're Open 6-10p tonight. No open containers, please.
