Getting illustrations and formatting completed for a rules-lite game about Illuminati inquisitors fighting off the collapse of time and space in Earth's hollow core.

Text has been playtested and is more-or-less set. A website, blog, and newsletter are a couple weeks from getting published. And a Kickstarter should go up in the coming months.

relay.fedi.buzz... What this does is gather posts from instances you're not already talking to and brings them in for you... Here's how to do it as a single user.

Using a tag you're already following, type this into the search box (without spaces):

@ tag-[TagNameHere] @ relay.fedi.buzz

That'll bring up a result. (See picture.) Click on the follow icon. You will see more soon.

I‘ve just read the book Dark Ages: Nosferatu, the first in a series of novels set in the famous RPG Vampire: The Dark Ages. It was a very interesting journey through Anatolia in the land of the Cappadocians. @bookstodon

It was a very interesting journey. For fans of Vampire: The Masquerade and Vampire: The Dark Ages, this is a novel that brings some very cool things, such as the crusade of Latins and Franks who invade Constantinople in the 13th century and end up putting several wheels of fate in motion (This is Medieval History, not spoilers). @bookstodon

@bookstodon I can’t say it’s a great work of fiction and fantasy, but it’s engaging. I feel that those who do not know the aforementioned RPGs will not be able to fully understand everything that is happening in this novel (which is a flaw, in my opinion).

Maybe I'm not going to buy any Dungeons and Dragons products for a while.

What's your favourite non-DnD system?

Oldmanstan,

@golgaloth

Delta Green because I like the bonds mechanic & Blades in the Dark.
Mostly I go for settings rather than rules. I used to buy gurps sourcebooks, but use the basic role playing rules booklet that came with the old Runequest/Cthulhu boxes.
BRP rules can be adapted to pretty much anything, and it's great for first timers coz everyone understands having a % chance to do stuff.
What I don't like is spending half the session looking up specific rules spread over half a dozen books.

Late to the party, but a mythology-themed series of books I really enjoy is the line.

This setting takes place in a variant of the modern world - but the faiths of old have never gone away completely. And while the Gods have some excellent reasons to be discreet when acting in the world, the activities of the supernatural are still common enough if you know where to find them.

The default assumption is that the player characters are young descendants of the gods - the titular Scions - who gradually become aware of their heritage, and then try to fulfill their destiny.

I am currently running a Scion campaign that is heavily inspired by German folklore, and it's a lot of fun!

The cover of "Scion Book Two: Hero". A muscular, red-headed man stands in front of high-rise buildings. He carries an oversized revolver in his right hand, and two ravens fly around him. Lightning is visible in the sky.
The cover image of "Scion Book Three: Demogod". A Black Woman wearing a purple jacket his holding a top hat with a skull symbol in her right hand, and a wand with a skull with red eyes in her left hand. In the background, spirits of the dead fly around pillars.
The planned cover of "Scion Book Four: God". A man in the tress of an Aztec jaguar warrior is wielding an obsidian-tipped mace in his right hand and a shield in his left hand. His chest has been carved open, and his heart is surrounded by flames. A red skull is floating next to him. An Aztec pyramid is visible in the background.

@juergen_hubert @Tim_Eagon @germany @folklore and I will read it. I am a sucker for folklore. Reading Italio Calvino's collection of Italian folklore in middle school heavily influenced my approach to GMing and storytelling, and every time I read more from other cultures my m fantasy worlds become richer
