I did the thing that strikes fear in the heart of Knitters the world over. ;)

I cut the sweater into a cardigan.

First I needle felted the cut line, then snip snip!

Next step is to pick up stitches for the button bands.

I did it! Successfully steeked a sweater! (With some help from a friend who is an experienced knitter)

Now for the finishing work to get the zipper attached!

My knitting needles got lonely, so I looked through my wool stash, searched on ravelry, and found a pattern that let me use up a bunch of lettlopi yarn left over from making 2 other sweaters.

I wouldn't have deliberately chosen these colors, but I think they work together.
