@starwars THE POETRY OF STAR WARS. Emperor Palpatine's Speech to the Senate in STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH is written in 9 enclosed quatrains where there's a rhymed couplet sandwiched in between an unrhymed couplet. So the rhyme scheme is this: abbc, deef, ghhi, etc...If I were to perform this poem, I would speak the rhymed lines with great volume and tone than the unrhymed lines and put a brief pause between each stanza. #poetry#starwars#StarWarsTheBadBatch http://jamesivan.poetry.blog/2023/08/26/star-wars-emperor-palpatine-speaks-to-the-senate/

So I watched eps 1 and 2 of Ahsoka and it made me realize what a key role Favreau played on The Mandalorian. Filoni is so in love with the Star Wars lore that every shot is framed like it's Huge and Important, but the show just hasn't earned that yet, so it comes off slow and ponderous. Filoni really needs a co-creator next to him saying "this is boring, how can we make the audience care?" That was Favreau for The Mandalorian and his absence in Ahshoka is palpable. #StarWars#Ahsoka
I'm enjoying reading people gush over #Ahsoka and pointing out things I missed but I'm so irritated with people who want to gatekeep.
"People who like #Andor are going to hate this because there's Force stuff & lightsabres in it."
No, that's not how that works. We can like both. We aren't the ones who deemed Andor "not #StarWars " because of the lack of those elements. We just enjoyed seeing the rest of the world who don't have those talents.
-I think the show is doing a great job with a tough ask of following up #StarWars “Rebels” plot points while telling its own story. The time skip did a lot here. For instance the primary conflict being between Sabine and Ahsoka when those two hardly interacted in “Rebels” grounds this new show in its own context.
-Hera is still Space Mom and Sabine is still God’s gift to coolness.
-the idea of mercenary ex-Jedi is SO compelling that it’s an instant hook for me.
"Life experience has taught you some valuable lessons. With your wisdom, you have also gained keener insight into the nuances of diplomacy and life itself."
Just remembering Tatooine originally in A New Hope was portrayed as a distant planet, far from the center of the galaxy. But these days seems like we can't escape it and everyone & their mother visits often.
Outside of Ep I-VI, in the Disney era we have
The Mandalorian going/on there in all 3 seasons
Obi-Wan Kenobi (partially)
Book Of Boba Fett there entirely
Upcoming Outlaws game will be one of the main openworlds
It is worth saying that, despite being a small book, a lot happens! Several scenes and several adventures and all equally important. Stackpole has always known how to balance and tell the narrative in an agile way. I’m already getting ready to reread the sequel, Dark Tide II: Ruin.
In SIGNIFICANT ZERO, author Walt D. Williams pulls back the curtains, offering an insider's look at the #VideoGame industry, and a path forward that imagines how games might inspire the best in all of us.
Hello Sci-fi fans and writers, I hope that this here is the correct spot to ask this question regarding a conundrum I have come about during my work on a sci-fi short Story....
In #Traveller#RPG the referee should think about if the buoy can be carried inside a ship or it can be used only by space stations and other technical issues (energy costs, how many times can be used, etc.)
Hey all! Here for my #introduction, I'm new to this instance, but not to Fedi.
I'm Ashkenazi, my parents and I belonged to a Reform temple growing up. I currently am a member of a non-denominational synagogue near me that has conservative roots. Most of social media online is antisemitic and exhausting. Happy to see a Jewish server on here and have been meaning to join for a while.
Still seeking decent sources of bagels near me as a New York-to-Boston transplant, have been ordering bagels as gifts for my equally transplanted parents straight from NYC. Goldbelly has saved us all. I did manage to find a very good Jewish deli near me whose bagels are pretty tasty, although not quite the same.
How would interdiction of Spaceships be possible?
