Pleased to announce this is up for preorder. It's set in 1970, there's magic and gods and drugs and queer romance, and I did actually write a couple of songs for the Macbeth musical. It's a direct sequel to Dionysus in Wisconsin, so if you haven't read that weird fever dream yet, now is a good time to check it out.

(There will be a paperback too. Just no preorder)

I Wicked Prince by Laylah Roberts ( 3/New Orleans Malones) over the last 2 nights. This slow-burn, relatively sweet (until near the end) is somehow spanking/kinky as well. TW for childhood trauma, assault, and sexy feet. @romancebooks

Excerpt. “He slapped his hand down on her ass and she let out a small cry. She kind of thought he might be joking. That he’d stop after a couple and get down to other business. But he didn’t.”…

I The Broker by Tara Crescent. This is not listed as part of a series but follows the characters in The Thief. This friends-to-lovers mafia is set in Venice. TW for a child abduction (she’s not hurt). @romancebooks

I First Comes Marriage by Jackie Barbosa. This was charming. The FMC has legitimate trust issues. TWs for abduction, abandonment during pregnancy, etc - none by the MMC, who is a legit good guy. @romancebooks

I’ve finished listening to the of Aden by DB Reynolds ( 7/Vampires in America). This is Aden’s battle to become Lord of the Midwest, while falling for the red-haired beauty Sidonie. TW for human trafficking & violent abduction. A repeat read/listen for me. @romancebooks

I Kincaid by Marie James ( 1/Cerberus MC). This is a rescue from an abusive relationship by a veteran MC President. (“A club. Not a gang.”) Expected issues relating to jealousy & club life. I liked it but probably wouldn’t repeat. @romancebooks

Help @bookstodon, kid is looking for her next read. Loved the Lunar Chronicles, Caraval, Court of Thorns and Roses, Maximum Ride. Suggestions?

I Merciless Devil by Kylie Kent ( 2/Sons of Valentino). This bff drunk-Vegas marriage was just about a perfect mix of sexy & cute, but the MMC might be bull-headed. @romancebooks

Tiny book reviews! @bookstodon

Saffron Alley by AJ Demas: Still love the characters and setting, pacing was a little odd.

Infinite Jes by Sam Starbuck: Fun characters, more Jewish than the last one, fade-to-black/sweet romance aspects made it feel a bit toothless, but adorable.

Romance writers (& editors), are you interested in gender as a craft tool & inclusion issue? I've just reposted my article ✨ Doing Gender on Purpose: Diversity, Depth, and Character in Romance✨ so that it's freely available. I the of Unfit To Print by KJ Charles. This lovely Victorian is notable not just for the M/M but because both MCs are POC in late-1800s London. For some reason, this hasn’t fared as well as her other in ratings - the setting & sub-plot might be uncomfortable for some. But I loved it. # @romancebooks

Just Alien Healer by Sue Mercury ( 2/Vaxxlian Mates). This short alien novella is a rescue & rehab of a human female. Themes of arranged marriages, forced marriages, pregnancy, etc but no glaring consent issues between MCs (sometimes I struggle with this author over the excessive violence in her books). Haven’t read book 1 but will. @romancebooks

I’ve Candy For My Orc Boss by Ava Ross ( 1/Monsterville USA). This cute boss-employee fated mates has a disapproving in-law to provide tension. Good for late summer ! @romancebooks

I’ve via Fire In His Blood by Ruby Dixon ( 1/Fireblood Dragons). This is a post-apocalyptic dragon shifter series, where Earth has been invaded by mad dragons through a portal ripped into the sky. Claudia is forced to try and “tame” one of the dragons. A repeat for me, & I think better than IPB.

I’ve just finished Silent Vows by Jill Ramsower ( 1/The Byrne Brothers). I will definitely be following up on the other in this series. Lots of meh on GR but I liked it for the FMC & her attempts to adjust to a different sort of crime family while still traumatized by her father. Also I like OTT possessive protective MMCs so this was a win for me. @romancebooks

I can’t remember why I decided to Faking Ms Right by Claire Kingsley. I am not fond of the fake-relationship genre, though a bit of stranger rescue can be fun, & I like boss-employee tropes. But the is entertaining. And I found a scene! @romancebooks

If you're looking for a good spooky season read, check out Dionysus in Wisconsin. It's got magic, mythos, music, demons, dancing, drugs, love, libraries, and literature aplenty.

I’m via Devil’s Bride ( 1/Cynster but 2nd chronologically). I think I first this in 2009 when it was released & have listened to it before, too. When reading on paper or ebook, it’s possible to skip the epically long sex or nearly-sex scenes - pretty sure one of them lasts over 20 pages. This one is neither my favorite nor my least favorite of the Cynsterverse. @romancebooks

? I’ve just finished via Sophia by DB Reynolds ( 3/Vampires in America). This series entry is where I start to love these . Sophia is searching for her missing sire, but finds Colin instead. Cyn & Raphael are searching for a group of vampire killers. It’s a , so yes, TW for violence. @romancebooks

I’ve stayed up into the small hours #reading The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen by KJ Charles (#book 1/Doomsday). This story was intensely absorbing. I was a little disappointed that the ending was HFN - but I suppose there is no HEA for 2 gay men in 1810 England. 🏳️‍🌈 #read #romance #books #romancelandia #bookstodon @romancebooks @bookstodon

I’ve finished listening to the Rajmund by DB Reynolds ( 3/Vampires in America). It’s my least favorite book in my most favorite series. The series is why I fic. Not sure why I’m not all that fond of Sarah & Raj, but I think it’s all the thoughtless things that come from both their mouths (same as mere humans do so often). @romancebooks

Since it’s a #football Saturday kind of day, I’ve #read Hard Hitter by Nikki Hall (#book 3/Wild Card). This #newadult college #romance is a charming brother’s best friend trope, and sister is afraid to tell him. I haven’t worked out how the book content led to the title, other than the loose connection to a sportsball term. #reading #books #romancelandia #bookstodon @romancebooks
