It's almost my birthday :blobcatcheer: and I plan to ask for another book or book series as my present :catsip: :catsip: :catsip: I just think I deserve it lol
I am not sure which book I'd ask for though. Last year (before the total collapse of it all), I asked for the Harry Potter series. I had been dying to get the physical copies of them since I became a fan back in highschool. :blobcathug: :blobcathug: :blobcathug: But since the issue with 𝘚𝘩𝘦-𝘞𝘩𝘰-𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭-𝘕𝘰𝘵-𝘉𝘦-𝘕𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘥, it became stale and I practically had the longest reading slump in my entire life so far.
I wish that whatever book or book series I pick relieves me from my slump. Then I'll finally rejoin reading spaces and (maybe) even join in ʙᴏᴏᴋᴛᴏᴅᴏɴ :blobcatcoffee: :blobcatcoffee: :blobcatcoffee:
Had a great time being interviewed on this #podcast and managed to squeeze in a few shoutouts for Coy Hall, Brian Bowyer, Adam Hulse, Ronald McGillvray, and others in the process!
@bookstodon I need #BookRecommendations please! I’m looking for low #fantasy recommendations. Romance can be there but I want plenty of adventure & banter to go along with it. Nothing epic- magic should take a back seat and it’d be amazing if the main character did not have magic at all. Best if MC is not royal/deity/etc.
The closest thing I’ve read to this is Intisar Khanani’s The Dauntless Path series (which is amazing and I highly recommend). Anything else like it?
Dear Hollywood, for the sake of Clever Natalya, please settle your labour dispute and immediately adapt M. A. Carrick's Rook and Rose trilogy into a twenty-eight-part series so I can see the costumes realized on people.
Anyone else: I don't know actors, but if you want to cast Vargo, Ren, Grey, Tess, Varuni, and the rest of them, I would be THRILLED to see some pictures.
I read this book last year and I loved it so much, it's one of my all-time favorite books. So of course I had to tell my friend Kriti about it, and now that she's read it too, we had a little chat about it! Check it out at : https://armedwithabook.com/the-last-gifts-of-the-universe/
This book also recently won #SPFSC which I was so excited to hear about! (Check out more amazing #SelfPublished sci-fi books at @spsfc ).
The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman: This was great! I really enjoyed the narrative voice and careful cultural hand-holding to ensure that the reader understands the nuances of insults and cursing across the different languages. The legacy of the goblin wars and loss of horses was very well portrayed, which made the hints at the ending about a possible restoration work extremely well.
