Okay, , I am going to shout this into the void and see if my next read might manifest itself.

These are four series that I’ve read in the last decade or so that have really blown my mind:

The Broken Earth, by the incomparable NK Jemisin.
The Machineries of Empire, by Yoon Ha Lee.
Teixcaalan, by Arkady Martine.
Imperial Raadch, by Ann Leckie.

Reading that list, is there a series of books that I absolutely have to read? Any recs spring to mind?

A huge thanks and shoutout to Coy Hall for taking the time to read and review "Shards" on Goodreads!

It's always a thrill to know that someone has enjoyed something I've created but it's also quite special when that comes from a fellow author.

Does your life need more floating cannibal bureaucrat witch nuns who spread monster-creating STIs through their government-controlled prison brothel?

Because if it does, Kerstin Hall's 'Star Eater' has got you covered.

I loved by RF Kuang & Red Team Blues by @pluralistic
Also reread by Annie Proulx & loved it again, a novel to get lost in but also devastating
