misophist,

Reminder though that this is being posted by a mod so keep discussion civil and thought provoking.

What does this mean? Do mods think they are more deserving of respect than any other members of the community? I’m having trouble parsing this paragraph to be anything but problematic.

It means all the comments show up as notifications on my phone and I caught a spammer earlier xD

Dexx1s,

The points given aren’t really that accirate. The main reason for prebuilts is for people to avoid building it themselves and to be able to bundle all the items under one company for warranties and such.

Prebuilts have the same issue with knowing the parts. If I see a company with two builds, but with the 5600/RX6600XT and 5600XT/RX6650XT they mentioned how do you know which one is better? You’re in literally the same predicament. That’s why companies now show FPS estimates for games as an extra perk but generally, buyers just look at the price and buy what’s in their budget, typically around the xx60 product range and an R5/i5 to go with it.

You’re right it doesn’t help much if someone else puts it together or not the specs are just as confusing

towerful,

I feel like PCPartPicker has taken this complexity away.
It’s SUCH a gem of a resource.

And if you live somewhere where Amazon provides fast delivery (as much as I hate buying from Amazon), it’s a great safety-net for a missing cable or part.
