I’m not very bullish about projects like these. Images and video are expensive to host, and I don’t think they’re going to be able to keep up with costs based on donations alone.
I like the idea, I’m just worried about what’s going to happen a few years down the line without consistent funding.
As someone who mostly uses fedoverse not the big tech apps, I gave a shot to it, but had hard time finding what to subscribe. When browsing all it was just porn.
As with Mastodon, I’ve found that following accounts that recommend other accounts/topics/hashtags is a nice start. There are also directories that can help until the browsing itself becomes better
