Today’s photo is from Ojai Raptor Center. . They have a pretty darn good website and social media pages. Most of these rescues have pretty basic ones, but these guys are on top of it. The release videos are good. The transport boxes look like big Happy Meal boxes so it’s like they got a really good toy with their kid’s meal.

Anyway! I thought this was a neat photo. Our Great Horned friend here is not being held against his will. This person is in an anti-imprinting suit. The goal is to hide human features and to minimize physical contact with humans. You can see the owl is on a branch, not actually being held. The birds are then hopefully placed with a surrogate parent bird, so they can be raised naturally and may be able to be released.
