Male cardinals do some weird things due to their territorial behavior. We had one that would attack the driver’s side mirror on just one particular car. He’s fight the mirror cardinal until he’d bleed. 🥺
That went in for a few years. Never knew why it was just that one mirror of the one car. It was red, but it was a full sized van, I would think that would make it clear it wasn’t another cardinal.
