The male guide says he does go in with them, but he is very careful about it because they know he’s male and they treat him as competition as they’re both male as well. He says the female worker can go in and they will sometimes fight for her attention like regular domestic dogs. For him, the mood can change very quickly if he’s handling food or their toys especially.

He also said when they need to knock one out for medical reasons, they have to do both of them at once because the other would defend the other pack member’s body.

The bobcat was he says is considered one of the strongest animals, pound for pound. I believe he says she weighed in around 40 pounds. That’s a good amount of very quick muscle, teeth, and claws!

I used to mainly be a cat person (I guess that’s the introvert thing) but losing my 2 dogs both hurt me very hard. It must be the pack thing rubbing of on us, where you become a kind of linked single being.

I will now pay the required pet tax. This is one of the last photos of my sweet old hound from this last Christmas.
