Invincible Saw Whet Owl (Nevada?)

State 27 - Nevada

Lake Tahoe Wildlife Center - South Lake Tahoe, CA

So, Nevada seems to not have very many resources for owl and other raptors. As far as I can tell, only one lady is licensed in the whole state, and she doesn’t have much social media. The other place in Nevada where you can actually handle owls seems to be a tourist attraction rather than a rescue, though it did have some pics of a rescue barn owl. So if you know a proper NV rescue, let me know, but for now I have to sneak just across the border.

Today’s little owl though is cool no matter where he’s from!

Huge THANK YOU to the amazing Wildlife Hero who rescued this Saw-whet Owl! 3 cars ran over the top of it in the roadway.THANKFULLY one of the cars stopped, picked him up & kept him safe for the night till she brought him to us! He actually looks pretty good - considering this tiny owl had a run in with 3 cars! The chance of survival if the Wildlife Hero had not stopped were slim…but now thanks to the kindness of a stranger this little owl is alive & on the mend!

Check out their Facebook for tons of animal pics and media. They have lots of animals, big and small, so if you want raccoons, bears, deer, mountain cats, etc go check it out.
