Crested Owl / Búho Cuernos Blancos

For you fans of ear tufts, behold your new king!

Known as the Crested Owl, Búho Cuernos Blancos, Búho Penachudo, or Búho crestado, this hairy hooty is found near the water in thicker lowland rainforest or humid evergreen forests from southern Mexico to Peru and Brazil/Bolivia.

There area room of pictures of this owl out there, but there doesn’t seem to be much information about them. It seems they are a challenge to study due to where they live and being nocturnal. They don’t seen to be endangered though, since they have such a wide range and are seem pretty often.
