Tumor-destroying sound waves receive FDA approval for liver treatment in humans | University of Michigan News

Technique developed at the University of Michigan-histotripsy- provides a noninvasive alternative to surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments for cancer. Histotripsy works by using targeted ultrasound waves for killing tumor cells. Beyond tumor destruction, the technique may also activate the immune system against cancer cells, as seen in a few preclinical studies involving rodents. If the technique lives up to its promise, this could transform cancer care beyond recognition

Hirom,

Yay. I hope it can apply to other types of cancer.
