One of the remaining 3rd party Reddit apps (Relay) has begun discussing what it would be charging for subscription fees. Imo, they actually seem somewhat reasonable. The weird thing is that every upvote or downvote is an API call so you can rack up a huge number of API calls from voting....

Since the API change RiF was still usable in logged-out mode, however, it’s now consistently not loading posts anymore. They recently updated the “logged-out user experience” (see link below), which may have also been used to finally kill any RiF stragglers....
Unfortunately a lot of Reddit communities have not transferred over to Lemmy so I have to use Reddit logged out. But now the comments aren’t loading anymore…
