Police Officers are people too

I see lot of targeted hatred (russian bots)? But rarely do they realize that there are ten thousands interactions with the police force daily and all of them are very helpful and constructive. We are both human and we deserve each other respect, but the people in blue even more so because they risk their lives daily. Thank you for making this a better place and saving thousand lives.

hypelightfly,

Fuck off with your bullshit.

Police officers risk their lives less than pizza delivery.

Police officers don't need to know the law, the enforcement of which is their entire job.

Police officers can't be sued in civil court for actions taken during duty.

Police officers don't meaningfully reduce crime in any tangible or verifiable way.

Police unions are all powerful black boxes with 0 oversight, accountability, or civilian recourse.

We all may be human, we all did not choose to be human boots.

The reasons why the pizza delivery drivers are in more danger is criminals and guns not police…

So pizza delivery drivers make contact with more criminals than police?

Edit: also the vast majority of deaths in both professions are auto collisions.

If we take off Traffic incidents (and diseases) im pretty shure guns are a very avoidable problem in both, but that wasn’t the point, point is 1. Why are you guys over the pond unable to drive and 2. Why does everyone need a gun? Many deaths could be easily avoided by not having everyone run around with a gun and police would be a lot more calm without having to worry about being shot at by basically anyone because you can get a gun while buying some snack in the fucking grocery store… (and don’t tell me that’s not a thing i have seen it myself!) this gun availability is one of the main reasons your police is so hypersensitive, and even though all of that, they are still very nice.

Well good luck solving our gun problem before our police problem. I do generally agree with you there.

And as for us not being able to drive it's more an issue of our corporate overlords ensuring our country is impossible to traverse without a vehicle.

But your impression of policing is worlds apart from the reality on the ground here in jesusland. I'm talking rival sheriffs deputy gangs in LA. Black site torture chambers in Chicago. The sheer number of police in civvies at J6. We put up with all this so they can hesitate when the rubber hits the road and let a bunch more people get shot, then cover it up.

My personal experience with police is that they are an overworked ineffective tool of control, most of them sign up with good intentions but those intentions are dissolved by a few months as a prison guard and a few training regiments that paint every civilian as a threat. They are expected to hear out old folks catastrophising nothing, enforce in the evictions of their own class, show up to a few hundred false alarms a month, in many rural areas they are their city/counties main source of income through traffic violation enforcement so they sit around waiting for someone to commit nigh victimless crimes, and then there's dozens if not hundreds of criminals they are fully aware of but can't touch because of their connections. And then in one shining moment they have to weigh their life against a strangers with a second or two to make a decision and their job, reputation, family, along with all that of a perfect stranger is all in the balance. I don't hate cops I love them, so I want them to stop being cops.
