@MrLovenstein Honestly, I don't really get this whole "you'll look desperate if you reply right away" thing.
If you were having a conversation in real life, wouldn't it be awkward if you were both just waiting for an entire handful of seconds or minutes before responding to each other? Why should it be different when texting?
When I don't get a text back immediately, I usually think "maybe they're busy. Or maybe they're ignoring me? Or maybe they don't check their messages regularly."
