@trixter To know whoever "named" it you have to go back to prehistory and find whoever invented Latin. No modern person has ever "named" it. In Latin, it's pronounced "et-kee-tera" usually or "et-tsee-tera" if you're a priest. When it was borrowed into English, they "corrected" the pronunciation to "et-ceh-tera". Nowhere can I find a source that says it's pronounced et-cee.
