@atomicpoet With the recent youtube decision to ban ad blockers, the experience has gotten much worse. Ads for janky, disgusting, or alarming products, random interruptions, and so on. It not good for YT for people to know whom they'll take ad dollars from. Embedded ads can by the creators be a bit annoying but are much more judicious. Like, I'm not sure I really need athletic greens but at least it's not an Epoch Times documentary.
