We have lost 8 % of active users in the last 4 weeks. Not sure why. Maybe it's due to less activity because holiday season in Germany is over. :thaenkin:
@thomas Not very active in terms of writing but enjoy reading the serious news and articles that i find here. So i may not be active in the stats but still happy to be here and thanks for the work you put in!!
@thomas I’m enjoying this calm and friendly atmosphere especially here in #metalheadclub to the fullest. Friendly, interesting and funny people who share mutual passions. No algorithm, no ads. Perfect for me 🤘
Sometimes I feel sad about such negative trends, but I guess I shouldn't. It's all natural and in the end it does not really hurt as long as enough people are interested in this project to keep it alive :)

I hope so, too. Maybe it's because vacation is still a thing for many people right now. Not main season anymore, not too hot, not too cold. Some friends and colleagues without kids are currently away...
Do you have comparison charts from the last years? Is it a common phenomenon?
@schm43cky unfortunately I have not set up long term stats tracking, yet. I don't have exact numbers. But I remember that there has been declining numbers several times, so that's not unusual.
@thomas From what I can tell, Bluesky has picked up speed and people are trying there. I've heard mixed reviews of it, it's seen as the natural replacement for Twitter, but some say it's filled with bots and not moderated.
Plus people who belong to an online community will go where the group goes. In theory I should be following my old Twitter bubble to bsky but I don't want to go, but I believe that's the exception to the rule.
@thomas don’t feel sad at all! You’re doing holy work with this little community. It will be natural that occasionally people will swarm to something, try it out and some will then find something else better for them. As others have said this little community (and that’s exactly what it is - an actual community), is very special. To me at least and probably to others too.

Well put BM, and I agree with every word.
There's a lot of talk about scale in social media, as if it only matters if it's massive, constantly growing and offering a potentially unlimited audience for my every thought.
This club really proves that what matters is the community, the connection over common interests - and just as people. And that can come from something larger, or something quite small.
It is a special place @thomas. It means a lot. 😎 🤘
