President von der Leyen welcomed Colombian writer Héctor Abad Fasiolinse as the guest of honour for this 2023 #SOTEU address.
He is a survivor of a Russian ballistic missile attack which took the life of his friend Victoria Amelina, one of the great young Ukrainian writers of her generation and an activist for justice.
Now he is telling the world about Victoria to save her memory and to end this war.
